You can READ UP ah LIKKLE bout ABUZA.

    Abuzanimah

The power of music is an amazing thing so powerful that it has the ability to influence our thoughts, has the ability to affect our health, moods, relationships and emotional well being. Great songs, precise harmonies, a high energy stage presence and stellar Musicianship are the qualities of a great artist. This is precisely what "ABUZA" is known for, throughout the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Born Varadi Kayodi Cyrus, on February 6, 1982 to Wayne and Theresa Cyrus of Largo Heights St. Vincent, he was the first of three children. Ras Abuzanimah (ABUZA), (meaning fatherly responsibilities) was reborn in the late half of the year 1996 through the grace of Emmanuel the Christ and the honor of his imperial majesty emperor Haile Selassie the First and has been blessed with an extremely loving family.

Abuza?s early education began at the St Mary?s school where he graduated on to the St Martin?s Secondary School for the first four years of high school which he finished at Bishops College Kingstown. He went on to spend another 2 years at the St Vincent?s technical and vocational college studying electrical and electronic engineering the final year being one of the most crucial year of his life when he started to learn the art of guitar playing/solo singing. Even before he was born his father somehow Knew that his son will take on the musical challenge by buying him a guitar before he was born, however he did not rise to the occasion until almost 20 years later after being taught just one chord by a friend at college, a chord he say still resonates in his mind. This marks as the catalyst for the discovery and dedication to his natural music ability.

Abuza first recording was somewhat of a primitive one, one which he always laughs about where at a live show at the Cecil Cyrus squash complex in 1999 he asked one of his friends to record his performance using his small pocket size cassette player after which he returned the favor by also recording their performance, professionally his first recording was done at First FM by radio personality and now CBU reporter Chester Connell, These were two classical songs namely ?Trying Times? and the perfectly written ?Come? which featured Yaphatoo. When asked where does he get his musical ideas he humble say ?All my songs and melodies are situations and energies experienced and never decided upon or figured out?

In 2002 Abuza was featured on a compilation produced by Mark Cyrus from The Master Rooms Studio entitled RAW which he voice two of the most requested songs ?Changing World? and ?Got To Go? he also played the guitar on almost all the tracks of RAW.

Abuza have opened for international acts such as Roberta Flack and Oletha Adams at Bluesfest 2003 and shared the stage with numerous regional entertainers such as Sizzla, Spragga Benz, Sean Paul, Determine, Junior Kelly, T.O.K., Turbulence, Tony Rebel, Third World, Luciano to name a few. But his most memorable performance to date was an acoustic set done at a club in Calliaqua where during the performance the electricity went out for that area and the only sound one could hear was the sweet harmonics of the acoustic guitar and the melody of his voice, the performance continued in the darkness and a crowd gathered as the hypnotic sounds echoed through the night sky, the crowd showed their appreciation with a standing ovation and showers of praises. The great thing about that performance was that a lot of hearts were won that night and that is to show the power of Abuza?s musical and lyrical prowess.

Abuza has been busy in the studios lately recording some of his finest songs to date he recently release ?Love Til The End? and "Mama " from Crash Landing Studios where he currently recording with producer Obed Williams, which is now riding the local airwaves. The music of Abuza will undoubtedly live on due to its simple yet complex realities of the lyric and the soulful energy he puts in all his live performances.
