I see ur point. I for one am against how the media portrays blacks.

But putting out info like this will hopefully help to inform and prevent the epidemic from spreading.

i think its many problems, that interlock(poverty, poor education, etc.) so the solutions need to do the same.

I heard a girl over the phone in Kings Plaza saying that the guy told her she couldn't get preganant 2 days after having her period...so it's okay for them to have sex without a rubber....needless to say 2 woman in their 20's heard this...called her over to them and told her the real deal.....

Their is not enough education in our communities and there is a never ending cycle in our communities (especially the projects)....18 year old women has a child....their child turns 18 years old and has a child and so on and so on....We have to get black people in our community educated in order to better their situations....

i'd love to examine the curriculum for these sex ed classes offered in schools. particularly public schools in inner cities.

1. I disagree with you. That is NOT how the information is primarily spread.

2. iowa's numbers suggest that even if they don't have blacks in that little town.....AIDS/HIV still got there somehow....

http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/topics/survei...rt/table12.htm

3. well rounded scope still says that blacks are disproportionately impacted by aids/hiv whether you like it or not....the message needs to be sent.
i was recently contacted by local media to explain to the reporter why black women are the new face of aids/hiv.....when i was done with this reporter, she was dumbfounded because of her lack of knowledge of how pervasive this illness is in the community....all she could ask was ...but why? so in light of tonight's episode....i say shine de flashlight pun it like it's a cockroach in Marcy projects!

It seems like with most health problems people in the black community like to either make it not seem as bad as it is or just sweep it under the rug. HIV/AIDS is one of those issues, no one wants to talk about it and when someone does, it's a slew of dead wrong information.

wrong again.
the cdc compiles records of disease reports and trends that local health department collect and send to state health departments who disseminate the information in addition to sending them to the cdc for them to compile and compare trends, statistics etc on a national level.

The mission of the CDC is too promote health and quality of life by preventing and controlling disease, injury, and disability.

That's not a frigging media group. A media group is describes companies that own large numbers of companies in various mass media such as television, radio, publishing, movies, and the Internet.

Well this is where we differ on opinions and that is cool. to me our government is one large media group. put it like this at the end of the day there is a person who maike the decision as to what gets put out there and how it gets put out there. So to me that sounds bias.
