the difference in CABO ZOUK n ZOUK LOVE??

ps: reading from utube coments they said the language is Cape Verdean Creole (kriolu) for CABO?

also how long has each genre been around since zouk has gone threw a transition phase to what it is now.

Both are around from about the same length of time late 80s...

the difference's would be the contributors so you hear different syncopations, personally i would put Zouk-love and Cabo-Zouk in the same category....

The syncopation in Zouk-love is Cadence in Cabo-Zouk or Cola-Zouk is Coladeira.The instrumatation and rhythm are zouk..

Cabo Zouk emerged so early??? are u sure?
All I know is that the first ZOUK-LOVE song was released in 1986
when KASSAV released Jocelyne Béroard's album featuring the hit song "pa bizwen palé". They had put a slower tempo to Zouk music for couples to dance in the clubs.
One year later in 1987, many zouk-love songs became hits as it coincided with the emergence of new artists like BATTERY CREMIL with "lanmou raid", ZOUTI featuring the young TATIANA MIATH with "soyons heureux" , ANNICK & JEAN CLAUDE with "sentimental" , ZOUK MACHINE with "sové lanmou" etc etc...
Seen from Martinique CABO ZOUK is a new genre from CABO VERDE islands, sung in local portuguese creole, it really emerged here for about 5 years but the tempo is the same as Zouk love. For us in Martinique it's just another type of zouk with a different creole. I can say the first huge CABO ZOUK style hit was by ALI ANGEL & MARISA "ali & marisa" some years ago !

Some will agrue that zouk-love was first done by Ophelia and that holds a valid agrument ... only thing is her music(genre) was Cadence-lypso but if you listen to then recording you see the difference in some tracks...but all in all they were labled as cadence-lypso(slowered).
