Went to my first Haitian Party tonight.

This song is amazing. I definitely had fun dancing to kompa. This song was the last song they played even though they play it several times through the night.

I think you live in TO. I remember once we had a discussion about the "origin" and meaning of the word sewo but I didn't know it's referred to a type of dancing.

Haitians def. drink rum and they love cognac. I am sure that some smoke week and do the passa passa thing. However it's hard to jump and get on bad in the soca fete sense at a konpa party. Haitians can wine and do wine but most find it a tad too vulgar for their taste.

One thing I know is that most Haitian girls do not like to dance with men they don't know much less ploge (danse kole sere) with them.
