Les Freres Dejean - La Priere

Another classic song by this legendary band, anyone tell me if the hook reminds them of another classic song

Just absolutely love the horn section and the drum work..

This was the song! The arrangements are FIRE! Konpa in it's hey day for sure. Les Frères Déjean are legendary. Very well known in the French West Indies but somehow get overlooked in Ayiti. Classics like this never die!

Sweet Micky was forever covering this song in his live sets.

Not sure about the song. The album came out 1980. I believe it was off the First Class album.

My favorite aspect of Sweet Micky's music was his live sets when he covered classic songs. Kassav did a cover of the hook in their song "Medley" off their "Aye" album.

Yup Micky gave you Latin classics, West African classics, and those good old Haitian classics that we may have forgotten or overlooked through the years.
