This week in Tosh
Since Monday was the 65th anniversary of Peter Tosh’s birthday, it seemed like every music blog paid tribute to the legend, in some way or another. I’ve spent the week stumbling across various video and interview posts related to Tosh, and so I decided to compile some of the best finds in this thread. So here, in no particular order…
Champion Reggae linked to this early interview with Peter at the Jamaican Sunsplash Festival in ’79: YouTube - Peter Tosh - Interview (during the reggae Sunplash ´79) Now What Am I Thinking About posted a great biographical piece on Peter Tosh: Thinking much too deeply about things since 1986. The Talking Drum covered Peter’s life in greater detail here: Peter Tosh Abuduzeedo included The Wailer’s first album cover in its iconic album covers article: Iconic Music Photography | Abduzeedo | Graphic Design Inspiration and Photoshop Tutorials The Tosh family put out a press release asking fans to take action on human rights issues in honor of Peter’s birthday: MusicDish Network Finally, Yardflex highlighted Peter’s excellent rendition of Johnny B Goode with this video post: YardFlex.com: Peter Tosh - Johnny Be Goode I’m still looking for video of Peter’s famous 1979 Saturday Night Live appearance where Mick Jagger crashes the stage to recreate their “Don’t Look Back” duet. Anyone find any other Tosh related gem’s out there this week? |
