Yemaya depicted in modern music: Very interesting!!

So this weekend I was watching VH1 (Soul) in Brooklyn it's channel 189, and there was this video I saw by a singer Adriana Evans. Now it's been awhile I've seen her on the music scene, but this neo-soul sista is back. Well this video has a real Cuban Yoruba/Orisha/Santeria spirit to it, she showed images of the singer speaking to a priestess or a spiritual mother smoking on a cigar *It gets even more interesting* Then towards the end of the film, you see an image of Yemaya *like a lil picture* and a candle. And then the focus on the singer dressed in a blue skirt, with eye make up designed like waves from the sea... oh and she was topless or I should say she's wearing beaded necklaces as a top (check for the video below) It's real interesting... oh and btw the name of the song is "7 days" and I thought like the 7 seas:

Yemaya's colors are blue and white, and She is said to wear a dress with seven skirts that represent the seven seas. Sacred to Her are peacocks, with their beautiful blue/green iridescence, and ducks. The number seven is Hers, also for the seven seas.

So I did some research on her site: http://www.adrianaevans.com/ and here's the link to her video:

"7 Days"
And then I found this letter from her site as well, so it all makes sense!!
Dear Friends,
The last few years of my journey since my first record have been all about exploration. My current musical expression is really the soundtrack of that adventure. I have been living somewhat of a gypsy existence that has allowed me to be an artistic sponge of sorts; unknowingly soaking up the sights and sounds of each place.
My first stop was northern Mexico. Then I headed off to my home town, San Francisco Ca. My nomadic tendencies then summoned me to Los Angeles, where I began packing my bags for Bahia Brazil. I travelled through norheastern Brazil feeling suprisingly at home. Reluctantly I returned to Los Angeles ,where I began assembling a new album. This project is the culmination of this pilgrimage. The stories in my current material are reflective of the life I've lived and of lives I've seen in my travels. I hope you enjoy it!

Thank you for all of your continued support.
Peace and Blessings,
Adriana Evans
