I'm trying to refrain from fried meat. I've been eating more fish especially wild salmon. I've cut my spending...no purchases unless it's an excellent deal like 75% or 90% off something I really need.
I got a gorgeous wool coat for $10. that was $100+ and some nice designer tops for $4 & $5.00. I got a beautiful faux fur coat for something ridiculous. While I"m in the store they reduced the prices again...I was like this is my lucky day...lol

I've been doing that since I've been home, trying to get into the saving state of mind. I need to get into using coupons more, and even thinking about getting rid of the movie channels on cable so our bill can be $114 (saving $30). I've even gotten into handling the money in the house, since I'm trying to go to grad school (trying to convince him that it's possible without us being homeless lol).

bouyon...I still didn't read, I swear I'm bad lol

Thumbs up

Girl, coupons are your friend..you hear me. lol Last week I used some coupons and nobody was more happy than me walking out the grocery, I saved a good chunk of change. A tip is to cook your meals based on what's on sale in the grocery. I head straight for the sale rack in all stores.
I got a good deal on a large container of string beans that were in the section that looked a lil wilted for .98 c. I bought two containers. I had me some curry string beans and fish. I cleaned and saved the other parcel. I even got apples, black concord grapes and bananas on that rack that were actually quite good for less than a dollar. I also save on fuel when I grocery shop, right now I have .50 cents off every gallon of gas I purchase. Oh and if it's on sale double up and use coupons on top of it.

Excellent idea with the cable, look at how much you saved. I did that before, I only had the family channel. You can always swap dvd's with friends or go to the library and borrow movies for free.
I called my cable company the other day and got cinemax channels added for 1 cent if I added my bill to autopay. I signed up with the quickness. Normally I don't like having companies dip their hands into my account, but this time I let it slide because of the deal.
Also, call your bank and ask them to consider lowering their bank interest.

Little savings like that add up. Some years ago I went to see my godmother in D.C and we went to Safeway to get groceries. When we got to the counter the lady pull out a bag of coupons for stuff that were already on sale and cheap...I was mortified...lol But then I looked around and noticed people in other lines were holding up traffic doing the same thing, not to mention the cashier didn't seem to mind, but was helping her with the process. When I looked at the final grocery bill I was speechless, she paid next to nothing for bags of groceries.
You can get lots of coupons online. You can buy an extra sunday newspaper to get additional coupons. These days I've thrown pride out the window because it's about how much you save, not spend.
