I can honestly say I don't always trust mine like I should. I try to analyze and rationalize what I'm "feeling"...and hence end up explaining it away.

Old way of thinking. You're suppose to think critically; and not rely on a feeling/sensation/vision/dream. I think my intuition maniffest it self thru dreams. I dream vividly its as if I'm out side myself and watching it play out. There have been times I've awakened talking as if I've been up the whole time. It can be a scary feeling; and I tend to run from it.

Now I'm learning to pay attention to the signs before I was stubborn

dang we have something in common then. Dreams are the root for me. Ever since I was a child. Once I learned to trust that I am being spoken to through my dreams I gradually stopped being afraid of my intuition b/c sometimes things just didnt make sense. That is why i would try to rationalize things away.
I just knew that I was I should or should not do, or who to trust or not trust, but because it didnt seem to make rational sense I would say I was just over-reacting. Until a babalwo who just met me told me that I get spoken to thru my dreams......(used to get insomnia cause I was afraid to go to sleep : ) I realized I didnt have anything to fear.
If your gut never leads you astray, and it always proves in the end to be right, then why fear what logically makes sense for you in the real world?

I always listen to mine...Last night i left work late(around 9pm) and there was probably 2 people in the office. When i got in the lobby i clicked the elevator to go down. i work on the 8th fl and the elevator was going up. I usually get in the elevator anyway and just ride it to go back down but this time there was a guy in there. So when the door opened he's like 'come on, its going up but its just going to come back down' and i made a step to go in but something said let it go and wait for it to comeback down. I didn't bother question or doubt it so i just said 'i'll wait for it to come back down'. Sure nuff the same elevator came back down empty. I don't know why i got that feeling, but i was sure to just listen and not question it.

I try to listen to mine it usually manifest for interactions with ppl... even though it makes no sense at the time, I act on it then later on its like ahhhhhh.

Is good u kepy yourself safe MCL. People give off energy that you can feel, so I dont think acting on instincts is as pie in the sky as ppl make it out to be. You are reacting to something that is essentially real.

I was reading a book called Blink by Macolm gladwell, and he puts forth the idea that instincts isnt just you acting on a "feeling" but is just a different way the brain processes present and cumulative information. Meaning, that you are using a type of thought process, that involves oyu taking what he calls "slices" of info to make a concrete decision....but we tend to call it instinct.

I am probably not paraphrasing very well but if u google him and read hte book you will get it It's very cool ideas he puts forth.

also, from the spiritual aspect, if you believe in ancestors then you should consider that you are being "spoken to" in those moments when it seems like your head isnt making a rational decision.

Same if you are Christian...sorta ...if you believe in the Holy Spirit - meaning you are intuned with Jesus - you will be able to hear when God is speaking to you and obey.
