Question two: Do people really think god is doing something? If he is, then what is he doing? For example, look at places like Haiti, Bosnia, Darfur. Christians or Muslims will say "I will pray for them" I LAUGH at this!! You mean to tell me that maybe, if we pray enough, god will realize "hey this is wrong, I should probably fix this!"

Question three: Why do bad things happen at all?

1. God simply has absolute power because He is God.

2. I think you are missing the point. Of course, God is always doing something, but you forget that humans are also always doing something. Often times, we are up to no good. God doesn't intervene in every single circumstance. If He did, then people would have no free will. We would be slaves without any opportunity to choose whether or not to serve God. We'd live in fear. Ultimately, God will end sin but every person must have a chance to hear the truth.

3. Bad things happen because humans choose to do bad things.

i've been thinking alot about this lately actually. None of us knows who God is. And the image we have of him is either one of this bright light or somebody who looks like us. But what if God looks like some strange alien or something? would u guys feel the same way?.....

I have a very interesting mind lol......

God has already revealed much of His character to us, so it that way we know who He is. We surely do not know what He looks like but one day I hope to see.

But what really is an alien and what does one look like? The media only puts out a bunch of ideas. All the term really means is a being that is foreign to us.

U haven't seen an image of god and believe me, no one knows what god looks like...

The pics U have seen are the ones of jesus which are made up by the europeans...

I would accept god for who he/she is...

that doesn't explain anything. how is he able to have complete power over everything?

3. Bad things happen because humans choose to do bad things. you're right about that. we also have the ability to make choices about the path we take in life

I stopped going to church (catholic) when I was 13. I had questions that no one could answer. My mom's response to my questions about God's existance was "no one knows if he exists, but we just believe because it's tradition". That's totally unacceptable.

Why do people have to believe that God will make everything come true? or God will solve all their problems? I believe in myself and I believe that I have the power to make anything happen, and I've been successful thus far, and the only tool I use is my brain.

If we're gonna ask questions about existance, our main question should be why are we here? what is our purpose?

That's just my

There is somethin' called research Master DJ...

In all honesty, I was brainwashed and believed what they told me without asking anythin' cuz I thought they were right until I started readin' the Bible and other books like The Holy Grail & Da Vinci Code and started questioning everythin'...

We all got our opinions and I aint gonna knock anyones... I not sayin' I'm right but I'm stickin' 2 what I believe in...

i dont know, maybegod is real, maybe he is not. but I could never see myself as a christian that thought hell was a good idea. if that whole jesus thing is real, its kind of messed up and scary... I know some christians dont believe in hell, but to my knowledge this is silly, the bible pretty clearly points to a hell...

and i definitely would be a "broken man" thinking about converting hindus, jews, buddhists, african religionists, and muslims or athiests... iyts so screwed up

this world has dark dark evil, horror and wrong ness in it

you know

if there is a god, I see no reason to assume that he would be good. look at everything that happens. even if you take the excuse that "well god didnt do it, we did" or god didnt do it, the devil did"

well who made US???

who made THE DEVIL???

why does no one question the obvious stuff

do all these christians really think its ok to torture people in a lake of burning fire for all time?

I dunno man, seems wrong to me.

1. That explains it for me. It doesn't explain anything for you. There clearly must be a God that made me, this earth, the many planets and galaxies etc. Of course, He has power over them - He created it all.

2. Why would God intervene in everything? Then we would have no free will, no choice. Maybe slavery - mental or physical - is fine with you but not with me.

3. Seek and you shall find the truth. We have a mind and are given discernment if we so desire. If you would like to listen and believe the people on the subway, well then go right ahead. It's your choice.

4. Exactly, what I stated - we all have choices. We wouldn't have them if God intervened in everything or forced us to follow Him.

As far as Catholicism from what I understand, tradition is first in that faith. If that's what some want to live by then that is their choice. Secondly, People don't have to believe anything they do not want to.

As for why I am here and my purpose, I already have answers to those questions and am satisfied with them.
