Do you think christians make themselves out to be better than others?

Do you think they look down on other people who may not be as religious?

Many do, but they shouldn't. To do so is not Christ-like.

I don't think it's intentional, but the scriptures teach that all those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as there Lord and savior are living in Sin. With that prevailing thought, it easy to see why people would think that.

Not a good enough reason though...

When Christ was on earth He ate and fellowshipped with those that many others would not have...and if He is to be our example, we should follow suit.

While it is true (by my belief) that those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour are living in sin, those who have accepted Him are not called to believe that they are better. Even after acceptance, what they really are is lucky. They've received grace from the penalty of sin. It's like you and I being pulled over for speeding. I'm adamant and deny speeding, so the officer writes me a ticket and tells me, "See you in court." You acknowledge your infraction and ask him for leniency and he let's you off without a ticket but a stern warning, "Just slow down." You are in a better position, but does that make you better than me?

Anyone using the name of Christ, who has accepted Him as Lord and Saviour, then believes themself to be better than the potentially lost, has just joined the ranks of the potentially lost.

Simple concepts aren't always that simple to understand...I guess.

Yes...their book encourages this ....on every page it reinforces the idea of fear and reminds you that breaking the "codes" result in the long trip to hell...

Leviticus preaches this death..if you do this...death, do that death..they even killed their so called prophet barbariously with nails in his hands and feet..killed the prophets cousin - chopped his head off - illustrates Moses's journey with the vicious drowning of many..

look down they sure do...they create systems like Heresy to burn people...call other's heathen, villainize pagan systems...at one time even encouraged world domination eg. The Treaty of Tordesillias...these are the actions of Christians.

They should also realize that Jesus humbled himself before all. and Christians should humble themselves.

I read something about "spiritual arrogance" years ago. It's easy for people to fall into that.

Of course.
Isnt that a major crux of the christian faith that certain people are "saved" and others are "heathens"

to take it in the most literal "look down" sense
they say they they will be "UP" in heaven and all others will be "DOWN" in hell

Modern Christianity is one off the most arrogant religions I have ever come across.

islam is a close 2nd

I grew up in Christian religion but don't follow it strictly... I do feel most of those who do, do have a "look down" on others attitude. Some christians are so fake, its unbelievable.

do u think christian make themselves out to be better than others

I am a born again christian and I think that I give my life t o christ as early as possible because their are signs all around us today. I think christian people have a better life and we do fall sometimes but that don't mean we stayed fall we have to get up and move on. Other people will not see it because they don't have that understanding that jesus is in control of everything. your house your car u money u wife u kids. he is our father. and t is nice to go to a church and they are being truthful and giving u bible study. I think god is not specially looking for religion but your heart let jesus come into u heart and he will give u peace and u will see how he will make changes in u life. we have remember we are all god children and we must follow him. he is my father because my real father died so he took control of my life and now i see how loving and kind he has treat me. he loves al of us it does matter who u are if u love him he will never leave u but u have to know him by reading his word he said i am the word so brother and sister it is nice to know jesus
