Smashing! Bolt runs 9.58 in 100m
BERLIN (Reuters) -- Triple Olympic champion Usain Bolt of Jamaica smashed his own 100 meters world record with a stunning time of 9.58 seconds to win the world championship final on Sunday.
American Tyson Gay, the 2007 champion, clocked 9.71 to take silver and Jamaican Asafa Powell claimed the bronze. Bolt made a near-perfect start, grabbing the lead after only 20 metres and storming to the line. He blew kisses to the crowd and hugged his friend Powell, a former world champion, roared on by some 70,000 cheering fans in the Olympic stadium. Thnx ole murderer for finding the link |
