what a sick game....how georgetown lost that year is beyond me...page, iverson, othella, junkyard dog....that's too strong of a team. |

I was watching the St. Johns/UCONN game just before. That was a classic game. UCONN had a nice team with Gordon/Oakfor/Butler. St. Johns had a one man show with Marcus Hatten. UCONN underachieved while Caron was there though. St John's ended up winning that game. That was only in 2002 now St. John's is having a problems these days keeping up in the Big East. Big East basketball is the best. ################ Vitale need to stop slurping Duke and the ACC.

Ah remember AI taking it coast to coast and dunking Johnson outta bounds, I still have dat video tape, lol. The reason they lost the 2nd game to Uconn was because of Ricky Moore, he has to be the best on-the-ball defender I've ever seen in college. A.I. has even said years after turning pro Moore defended him better than anyone else has ever done. I'm surely no UConn fan but I'm a little disappointed he didn't pan out in the pro's, he deserved a NBA roster spot on his "D" alone. |

...and I was right there too in the Garden. Page won Big East Tournament MOP award....he may have won Rookie of the Year that year too. He didn't have handle like that though...he went left 90% of the time. AI credits him with teaching him his crossover. He put on one of the more memorable performances the summer before his rookie year, in the Kenner (Summer) league at Georgetown...going head to head with a DC area street ball legend, Greg Jones. Jones played a couple nondescript years at WVU...but now that dude had handles. Best ball handler I've EVER seen, bar none.
A couple years ago Page got shot and lost his left eye. Then two years ago his cousin was jailed for retaliating and killing this 17-year old kid. Page played a couple years for Sioux Falls Skyforce in the CBA...where fans still adore him to this day. That dude could flat out jump out the gym.
