Since Stern blocked that Chris Paul trade, I have no more interest in the NBA.

You guessed wrong. Completely wrong.

He's a Celtics fan, so you're as wrong as wrong could possibly be in thinking he has an emotional investment. If anything he should be happy the Lakers didn't get better, right? Right?

Wrong.

I am so glad the Knicks got Tyson Chandler, or else I'd be forever wishing "what could be" any time I think of DeAndre Jordan or see something like this:

Celts fan, but I am a fan of Kobe and think he's the best since Jordan and top 5 ever. So I am vex that Kobe won't be getting close to #6. It's fun when the Lakers and Celtics are both elite teams.

I'm just vex that Stern say Hornets can do any trade, then when they had a trade, he personally stopped them? How can a commissioner stop a trade? How can a league own a team?

This is worse than Donaghy and I get sick every time I flip the channel to NBATV. I'm not watching basketball for a year.

I hope this move backfires on the nba....and I believe what I'm going to say: I hope Chris Paul and Blake Griffins knees blow out just so Stern will have egg on his face.

3 years ago it appeared the Hornets were poised to become true contenders in the NBA, where are they now??? With Paul gone and West looking to get out...

Someone on my job told me Miami closed deals to get Curry and Shane Battier to strengthen their bench.

Good lord Roti, I addressed this at length in the free agency thread, and you didn't reply. Was I making too much sense? Now you back posting this knee-jerk conspiracy dotishness again. Yes Roti, it's total dotishness.

I'll ask again: how can the Hornets be sold if two of their top-3 players (Odom, Scola, Martin) are going to retire in 3 years?? Which buyer is going to want a franchise that just INCREASED it's debt (salaries) and has to be rebuilt 2 years after purchase?

The Commissioner did not veto the trade. The Hornets OWNER turned DOWN the trade request. The distinction is intricate yet incredibly vast.

Please consider the question I just asked from a business standpoint. How in the hell are the Hornets gonna be sold with their top-3 players all over 30 years old???? That is what that idiotic trade that Stern turned down would've done. It would've made the Hornets completely unsellable for the next 5 years.

You are defending a trade that was completely STUPID. If I gave you a task and told you to do it any way you like, and you came back with something that was gonna cost me 2 BILLION dollars, you damn right I'm gonna pop you on your knuckles and go back on my word. That Hornets GM is clueless.

Stop thinking like a conspiracy theorist and consider the business of an NBA team...please, for a minute.

Stern THE OWNER turned down the trade because he needs young players and a future to sell the franchise. This has NOTHING to do with the Lakers. NOTHING.

Stern shouldnt be an "owner" though. Even still the way it was done wasnt right. Think about this, if you owned the hornets and I owned the Lakers shouldnt we be discussing what trade we want to make? Why did it seem like Roti (GM) and I made a trade and you all of a sudden stepped in. Shouldnt Roti have consulted with you before this trade was ready to be signed off on?

I dont know if you understood my scenario but the owner should have been involved from the beginning as opposed to waiting til it became public to say NO! That is a bad business practice, one that hurt the Lakers.
