Yeah I heard that, but I don't really think he fits a Don Nelson type team that likes to run and gun. Nelson's always been about big men that can face the basket and run the floor (CWebb, Sikma from his Milwaukee days, and Dirk), and not so much the back to the basket type PF's.
Besides him and Diddy played HS ball in many camps and are good friends. |

Report: Duhon agrees to deal with Knicks
By The Associated Press Chris Duhon verbally agreed to a deal with the New York Knicks on Friday, the point guard and his agent told The Sporting News. “I am just excited, I am ready to get to work for the Knicks,” said Duhon, the former Duke player who averaged 6.9 points and 4.5 assists in four seasons for Chicago. “It’s a big stage, playing in New York. It’s something every player in the NBA wants.” Duhon’s agent, Kevin Bradbury, told The Sporting News that he couldn’t comment on terms of the deal, but the magazine cited an unidentified source in its Web site report as saying Duhon will get a two-year deal starting at the full mid-level exception. The mid-level exception will be announced July 9, when contracts can officially be signed. “Chris could have shopped himself around more, but in the end, he wanted a fit where he felt comfortable and he knew what kind of opportunity he would be getting,” Bradbury said. “He wasn’t worried about trying to find more money on the market or anything like that. He wanted the right situation, and this just felt like the right situation.” Report: Duhon agrees to deal with Knicks - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

Chris Duhon celebrated his July 4th by verbally committing to the KnicksNew York Knicks , agreeing to terms on a two-year, roughly $6.5 million contract, his agent Kevin Bradbury told The Post today.
With Orlando unable to extend Duhon a formal offer until after the Magic explore the Corey Maggette situation, the Bulls backup point guard chose the Knicks, who courted him on the first day of free agency and extended him an offer immediately. Bradbury said he's been told by the Knicks he will have every opportunity to be the starting point guard and is expected to compete with Stephon MarburyStephon Marbury during training camp. At the very least, Duhon would be in position to start the following year when Marbury is expected to be gone. Duhon can't officially sign until July 9th. A source close to Donnie Walsh said Duhon's signing does not mean Marbury will be demoted or bought out. Bradbury said a major factor was Duhon's fondness of playing in Mike D'Antoni's system. "You only get so many chances to get your game to the next level and to be able to be a starter,'' Bradbury said. "He's been told he'll be given every opportunity to win that job." Well, I can vouch and say that Duhon and Heinrich Buss' our a$$ plenty of times on the Fast Break. Its a 2 year deal...Fred Jones is a Free Agent, so essentially hes' only replacing him. Plus, you have to respect Duhon's Three from the corner when that shet' is on its' on. Well, Raja Bell is mediocre too...he flourished under D'antoni's System. Hey, man I'm trying to stay positive here....

Warriors to ink Maggette to 5-year deal
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — The Golden State Warriors will sign high-scoring free agent Corey Maggette to a five-year contract worth around $50 million, a person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press on Tuesday night.
The person, speaking on condition of anonymity because the deal can't be announced until Wednesday at the earliest, confirmed Maggette will leave the Los Angeles Clippers for a lucrative long-term deal with the fast-paced Warriors, who outbid several suitors for the former Duke star. The San Francisco Chronicle first reported the deal. Maggette, a 6-foot-6 swingman who led Los Angeles in scoring last season, should fit splendidly into Golden State coach Don Nelson's pell-mell style of play. He averaged 22.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists last season for the moribund Clippers, finishing slightly off his career highs in all three categories. Maggette has been with the Clippers since 2000, longer than any other player. But Maggette and teammate Elton Brand opted out of the final years of their contracts last week, with Maggette turning down $7 million for next season. The 28-year-old Maggette will trade places on the California coast with Baron Davis, who spurned the Warriors last week for his hometown Clippers. Davis, who was considered the Warriors' team leader until his abrupt decision to opt out of a $17 million deal for next season, accepted a smaller salary in Los Angeles for a long-term contract and the chance to team up with Brand and perhaps Maggette. Instead, Davis looks to be stuck on another rebuilding Clippers roster. The club is expected to lose Brand as well, amid reports he has agreed to a long-term deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. The Warriors also made a play for the power forward, likely driving up Brand's price. Davis' departure cleared room under the Warriors' salary cap for Maggette, who reportedly drew attention from Boston, San Antonio, Detroit, Utah and Orlando. Golden State apparently offered more money and a longer term than most of Maggette's suitors, who mostly couched their offers at the mid-level salary cap exception. Maggette easily could fill the void left by underachieving Golden State swingmen Mickael Pietrus, who's expected to sign with Orlando, and Matt Barnes, who won't be back, according to Nelson. Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington are the only veteran regulars currently under contract to the Warriors, but top basketball executive Chris Mullin has said high-scoring guard Monta Ellis and center Andris Biedrins — both restricted free agents — will be back at any price, hopefully with long-term deals. Promising youngsters Brandan Wright and Marco Belinelli also will return for their second NBA seasons, along with rookies Anthony Randolph and Richard Hendrix. Nelson has promised to give more playing time to his young players in the upcoming season, even at the expense of a few victories. Still, with Maggette's arrival, the Warriors will have three veterans who each averaged 20 points per game last season. |

Guess my mistake was looking at it in basketball terms; cuz like the writer said, the Clippers are, in fact, the Clippers. They didn't have to get into a long bidding war with the Sixers, but I've seen more than a few ppl say they could've at least tried to offer a bit more after their initial offer. In any case, the 'L' in LEastern Conference just got a little more blurry..... |

Can someone explain to me why Baron Davis would want to go to the (Brand-less) Clippers? I'm not getting it.
