GOOD frozen ethnic food goodies
I recently got into quick and cheap, acceptable quality frozen foods
first on the list is GOYA, who have the latin game on lock ham croquettes chicken croquettes, cheese and beef empanadas, beef tamales shells for empanadas frozen yuca if you go to an asian market you can get very nice dumplings: pot stickers, leek dumplings, pork dumplings.... you just pan fry for a little bit, then add a little water and steam easy to whip up a sauce with some soya, ginger, garlic and hot pepper, and maybe a lil rice vinegar these are real good you can also get pre grated yuca at asian markets this is a godsend if you want to make pone(just combine it with the fresh frozen grated coconut) or bammys, oh they also have WONTON wrappers at asian markets... saves you ALL the effort and you can make whatever noodle/dumpling you want... boil it in some broth... voila! I also recently found WEST INDIAN stuff.... frozen patties... beef and curry chicken... sitting right there in the market. but today I went shopping and I couldnt find them... maybe at another store anyone abroad now what brand these were? MIDDLE EASTERN/GREEK STORES have cheese and spinach pies, like in phyllo type dough... very good anyway the stuff i mentioned beats the pants off of totinos, and all the other BS frozen foods that college students eat..... so.... anyone else dig this stuff? what else is good in the frozen or chilled imported food shops!??
