After going through the (D-9.com) website and it's marketing faux pas website "MNU Spreads Lies" (mnuspreadslies.com), I have found out interesting facts about District 9. From reading the ENTIRE blog including its fake comments from the "MNU Speads Lies" website, I have gathered all the little bits of information that give away some of the film's plot and back-story.


These non-humans (aliens) have crashed landed on Earth in Johannesburg, South Africa (the largest city in South Africa). Some say it was an accident and some say that these aliens were running away from something. They are now deserted on our planet and are forced to deal with humans, our environment, and our technology.

According to a non-human, who calls himself George when communicating with humans, who created (mnuspreadslies.com), says that they are a lot like humans. They work, they get tired, they sleep, eat, have friends, have a family they care about, have hopes, have dreams, and want what is best for their futures. It appears that these non-humans were probably first confused by our technology but are slowly learning how to use them. As you can see from the website, some of these non-humans can use our computers, translate human language, and even put up their own websites. Yes, funny, I know.

The crash site in Johannesburg is now their home. It is called District 9.
District 9 is a run-downed, dirty, and slum-like non-human community. District 9 is monitored and surveillanced by a global industry called Multi National United (MNU). Multi National United (who also manufactures other things like dog food, seat belts, children's toys, gas, petroleum, etc.), are worth $858 billion and are rumored to have strong ties with the United States and African government. A lot of money is put into handling this alien race. There is talk that MNU, who promises fair treatment of non-humans, are actually suppressing the non-humans by treated them like animals, stealing their technology, and using them as slaves. Multi Nation United controls the entire alien race. Because these non-humans are stuck here they have no choice but to stay in District 9 and follow our rules. Some humans are upset that a lot of money is being put into taking care of them while others are protesting for their freedom and equality.

A guerrilla group, formed by the non-humans, called 'Pro Forma', is trying to bring down MNU from the inside and are fighting for equal opportunities and rights while hoping for a peaceful co-existence with humans. Some of their demonstrations are also militant. Some are suicide bombers called 'Sacrificers'. One example is when a thermal bomb was set off at a cafe in a human district which killed everyone inside including women and children. Many non-humans like George disprove of this kind of extremism committed by these Sacrificers.

Some non-humans are hoping that a rumored 'non-human-friendly' company called Tanukashi will take over from MNU whose contract will expire if they don't meet certain requirements. On a leaked flyer by the Tanukashi company it shows that they support the equal co-existence of humans with non-humans. Tanukashi has a better human rights record that MNU, has a better environmental record, supported programs that searched for extraterrestrial intelligence, and most importantly, Tanukashi has no ties to the military to the extent that MNU does.

Like mentioned before, MNU is also notoriously known by the non-humans for stealing their technology. Since their arrival, MNU have been harvesting non-human technologies from the crash site. For every human invention that is made the inventor gets royalties every time their invention is copied. Since non-humans use human currency like Rands (South African currency), George says that non-humans receive none of the royalties from the humans who have unrighteously stole their technology. For example, a military jet, called a Skyhawk FA-155A, has a laser pulse beam, a weapon made from non-human technology. There is also a weapon called an outlander P55 Blaster that can blow through 4 feet of steel.

lol im a fan of halo n this might give it the green light to reconsider the movie is worth it's heavy budget.
