The highest SPF # gives you the best protection. And it depends how long you are planning on being outdoors, what sort of activity you are doing.

My face cream contains SPF 8, which is fine for me running to and from my car for work but when I go to BIM or anywhere that Sun beats as hard, I use SPF30 that is water resistant.

coconut oil promotes tanning and which can lead to too much exposure then eventually sun burn...spf 45 is good if u have sensitive skin also if u are going to be outside for long periods of time..on my face since i work outdoors alot i used Oil of Olay complete defense which has spf 30. when i am showing skin outdoors i wear spf 45..i go to the health food store and get my sunblock
