I read somewhere that when u shave, u have to shave in one direction only and its the opposite direction in which the hair grows to prevent ingrown hairs. I've been shaving following that method and i don't get razor bumps.

I do this too. I also exfoliate the area after I shave and a few days after. That works for me

KNOW THE DIRECTION IN WHICH YOUR HAIR GROWS. if your hair in that area grows downwards as it grow out the hair folicles, shave in a downwards direction. These area vary in angled direction every 2-3 inches. if your'e shaving against that direct, yes it gives a quicker and easier shaved outcome, but razors arnt always cutting but pushing against the hair back into the skin. therefore causing it to be trap in the skin and growing inside. the more curlier ur hair is, the easing for it to be stuck inside the skin. Also as soon after shaving use alcohol, neosporin or any anti-bacterial ointment that will kill germs in the area and help damaged skin it the area heal quicker to prevent hairs being traped in the damaged openings also.

this is actually a good idea as electric shaves don't get as close to the hair on the skin as traditional shavors leaving you free of ingrown hairs.

Shave in the direction the hair is growing.
Exfoliate before shaving.
Get a Dr. prescribed shaving cream.

I never tried it but I heard magic shave (the same thing men does use on their beards) also works on the body and it doesn't leave bumps.
