Roller Set/Curls Loc Styles??

To all you ladies (and gents) who roller set their locs for the "curly" look, which do you use-Rods or sponge curler? I know some people even use strips of a t-shirt. Basically, which is your method and which do you feel makes the curls last longer?

ive used news paper, sponge rods and the norma plastic rods. The best curls I have gotten was puttin my hair in bantu knots.. with the other rods a holding spray and sittin below the dryer and making sure the hair is dried thoroughly.

Every time I did curls I used sponge curlers, let it dry partially, removed the curlers and twist them into Bantu knots. But I wanted a more spiral curl look and was wondering if I can achieve that with rods instead of the sponge curlers.

I usually do my sis own on rods, she would leave rods in for an entire day (she hates dryers).

pipecleaners give the best, tightest curl for me. when they loosen, they're cute.

I've used the cold water rods & pipe cleaners and think they both give me good curl. The spongrollers is a waist of time period. Pipe cleaners have the metal inside which helps dry your locs quicker(think locs like me need that.) An you can have a good night sleep with them as well.
