And buy some CHI Silk Infusion to use with the flat iron. It is a light wieight hair product that makes the hair shiny and heat resistant so your hair can the same texture as the relaxed hair.

I am currently using a childrens relaxer (PCJ) which I have used from the time I stopped being natural.

As a relaxer I find that it is very good, and it always gives me a good perm. I also use it about once a month - I mean thats how quickly my hair grows (when it gets thick its too unmanageable) so its good for that.

I think I like the sound of the CHI silk infuser.. I find my hair gets soooooooooooo dry and I can't for the life of me find a product that doesn't get sucked up by my hair!! Feels awful!
It looks good for the first few days after a relaxer then I have to resort to pulling it back in one....
So any suggestions? Wrapping is out of the question.. the scarf ALWAYS falls off during the night and I end up with a big mess and .. a pony tail..

I swear by my ceramic flat iron. My hair hasn't been permed since June and I just can't sit in the hair salon for hours until I get time. I found what works out well is I'll wash it, condition it with Motions CPR, then let it air dry while I clean up, then flat iron it.
