CELESTE JOHNNY / CHIEF DESIGNER / CEO

Celeste Johnny’s unique talent and love for fashion has propelled her rise as an international swimwear designer for one of the newest and exclusive swimwear brands, JOHNNY VINCENT.

Born in Chicago in 1974, Celeste has been a lover of fashion since the age of 8. Inspired by her mother’s own love for fashion and great sense of style, Celeste began designing prom dresses at age 13.

Celeste graduated from Louisiana State University. While in school she held the position of Wardrobe Consultant for the LSU Fashion Committee and eventually a member of the Fashion Board. During her studies she found time to continue her love for designing and designed dresses for her sorority sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha. Once graduating from LSU Celeste packed her bags and embarked on the fashion capital, New York City.

After landing a job at Newsweek Magazine, Celeste enrolled at Parsons School of Design for formal training. It was here she discovered her passion and talent for designing swimwear. With folders full of designs Celeste made her dream a reality. In 2006 she started her very own swimwear company, JOHNNY VINCENT.

JOHNNY VINCENT is a true representation of Celeste’s contagious spirit, energy and love for life. By the fall of 2006 she had her first client, the Hilton Resorts in Barbados. She had no idea what to expect, but her goal was to at least sell 10 pieces. As it turned out her first order was for 65 pieces. It was then she realized, “This is it, there’s no going back!”

In 2007 Celeste launched her first collection, “Paradise”. This collection paid tribute to the Hollywood of old with an explosion of glamour on the runway. With her eye for vibrant color, majestic fabrics and glamorous accessories she has made JOHNNY VINCENT the “must have” item for any woman’s summer collection.

Since the launch of Paradise, Celeste has participated in fashion shows all over the world, landed the cover of NOIR magazine, a European publication launched this fall and now has her pieces available in St. Vincent (the island behind the name), Aruba, Barbados, Jamaica, New York and in 2009 Barcelona.

With the launch of the “See You Watching” collection Celeste plans to have all eyes on JOHNNY VINCENT.
