Something about the handles....the fake ones have this plastic look. The handles are usually beige or light brown and they have this red strip.....that's how I tell. Also the brown bags with the monograms...the leather is always so hard. That's how I usually tell if they are fake or not. Go to Louis Vuitton store and you will see what I'm talking about

The real one's have that plastic strip too, but it just looks different. I don't know how to describe it....you have to visit a Louis Vuitton store. Then you may be able to tell!

I order to know the difference, is the print size and quality make of the bag. However, unless ur that anal about the veracity of the bag, or your a buyer or merchandiser, no one acutals goes around with a magnifying glass and ruler to measure a logo on a bag before they buy it.

My cousin who is a LV fanatic told me that with the real ones, over time the leather on the handles become darker.

well actually, i am not a LV craze, i just got the bag as a gift and i wanted to know if it was real. i wasn't trying to be "anal"
i not into fancy name brand stuff like that, if something looks nice than i get it, the most i eva spend on a bag is $30 on my Gap bag, so i really know nothing about those designer bags. |

So many peole are going after these bags alot walking around in the fake ones they are not all that nice. Well personally I do not like to walk around advertising brand name labels i would rather their logo be very small like tommy or dkny.

I like louis's. I find them tasteful. It depends on what bag style you have to be able to tell the difference. A lot of times the fake ones have handles that are longer. Look at the picture below. This bag should not be able to fit on your shoulder. The fake version has way long straps. Also note how light the stap is. The fake ones never have a strap that light and their straps also get stringy. The real LV's strap does get dark brown with wear but the fakes stay with that same in between color.
One more note, the only way to guarantee that you have a real bag is go to a certified merchant (the LV store, etc) that gives you a certifcate w/ registration number. |
