Question Hair locing methods

I have someone who usually does my twists and I want to loc my hair but she uses the latchooking method.

Can anyone offer any advice or info on this method vs the other methods? Is there such a thing as the best way to start the locing process?

Here's something I posted a few months ago. My stylist used the interock method (no instrument used...just fingers). This may help you in understanding the process. Also, ask your stylist about the method.

For more information about the latching/interlock technique, go to www.herspecialhair.com. There's an e-book you can download for $14.95. This may help anyone who wants to do this on their own hair. I hear it's easy, but I'm both lazy and afraid. Maybe one day when I'm tired of paying money, I'll try it on my own.

As for Juicy Trini's question, this method can be done with fingers, or with a latchhook/crochet needle. My stylists have used their hands to do this. The book contains this information. If you want to download it, make sure you have access to Adobe on your computer.

I started mine as a two strand twist back in april and then palm rolled it everytime it got washed. The two strand worked fine for me and I love it.
