Dread Removal Kit

Ok, so I went to Ricky's to buy some shampoo. My eye came across a dread removal emergency kit. It claims that it removes dreads without you having to cut all you hair OFF!

Knotty Boy Dreadstuff: Dreadlock Removal Kit

not sure how well it works! I thought it was a little weird that the company has picture of a dude with locs on it's product. I thought the sole purpose of the product was to remove locs in the first place.

This kit is actually mostly for those who started their hair by using wax and clumping it together. so the kit just softens the wax so you could comb the hair out.but for those who used the interlocking or twisting methods it would be good to use the kit to soften the hair properly but actually taking out the locs will take a longer time.

I had locs for about a year and i used regular conditioner and detangler and left in for a long time then i actually had to take a toothpick to undo each lock. it took me about half hour per loc. needless to say i don't have patience so i got tired after doing about 10 and just shaved the whole thing off.

there was an article once about this hairdresser shop that undoes locs

basically they add a lot of conditioner and other substances and painstakingly comb, unloosen, untangle each loc.

It takes up a lot of time and can get very expensive, however the before and after pics they showed of a customer were convincing...this would be a good option if you prefer to rock afro and twists instead of a manhead if u decide to do away with you locs

yup... dis is for ppl with straight hair dat used wax and hair isn't really "locked" but just held together by wax and gel. the first time i locked my hair and then a year later decided i didnt like how my locs were forming... i used a rat tail comb to pick each out one by one. took me about 2 days.

yeah I know someone who is thinking of doing this. Right now she's scared since she's tender headed (all of that combing and picking), but I'll keep y'all updated.
