For a long time I've been contemplating on cutting my locs, but I've also realized that I'm emotionally attached to my hair (hence the reason why I have not cut them). I admire models such as, kaone kario, Alex Wek and many others who sport the short look. But for my mixers who sport the short look or who had locs but cut them off how did you feel afterwards? How did your friends and family react after you cut your hair?

I want to cut my hair low like theirs:

these girls face might look nice but i believe its a package when it comes to women. yes your hair shouldnt define you but your whole appearance does. its like you in a prom dress with sneakers. no matter how fresh the sneakers are it still just doesnt fit. the "man head' look on a woman is an oxymoron. they just dont go together

I love that cut Nkosazana. U ready to go that drastic? lol. I thinking about my hair too.. but I dunno if I ready to not have any hair at all...

Keep your locs. I personally love them and think they are beautiful but honestly you have to really go with what you truely want to do, no regrets. If you get the hair cut and find that you don't like it or it doesn't fit your face you can always grow your locs back. But I say keep them

I'll miss seeing you in them (of course via pix), but if you feel you're in need of a change then I say do it. It's just hair anyway, so you can grow it when you're ready.

Nkosazana, I think you will look great with that cut. And like Jaze said it's only hair and you can always grow it back.

When I cut my hair, I wasn't attached to it or anything. But after I cut them I was like whyyyyyyyyyy . But then that feeling went away and I couldn't wait to grow my hair out and rock my fro again. Not gonna lie, when I look at pictures I get a little sad sometimes.

that woman is gorgeous!!!!! I've never had locks before but i did cut my hair low before. Not low like that but really low and people was asking me plenty questions! 'y u cut your hair'? 'are you a lesbian now?' all kinda thing. At first i was afraid because your face is out there, you can't hide behind your hair anymore...and thats what i loved about my short cut, it was then i realized my beauty, my cheek bones, nose, chin everything i wasn't seeing before because i associated hair with beauty. As much as i love to see black women with locks, i love to see a black woman with a short cut like that. Its almost majestic to me. If i remember your pics correctly, i think a short cut like that will suit your face great. Whatever your decision is, as long as its what your heart truly desires and not because of 'issues in your life'(plenty women does chop off their hair when certain 'shituations' arise) you should be happy.

dont mind dem woman, they dont want you be as beautiful as you can be. they trying to lessen the pool of competition for men. lol yeah u can grow back your hair but think of how long it took you to get where you at now. you willing to go through that again?
