IslandMix - Soca, Reggae, Zouk and Caribbean Entertainment

So I and a small crew went to the function, and I must say despite all derisive talk of JRG Fashion Cafe it's a VERY cool vibe that place (but I guess if it's a ram jam fete I could see the problem ). My companions and I arrived at about 8:15, and the event was set up not too many people on the inside, as the night progressed the setting remained relatively intimate, with nice music, nice vibes and NICE clothes!

The models worked the small but very interested audience, as one of the creators explained the creative and historical context of the designs. The pieces, as the designer explained, are "art expressed through clothing." The Caribbean as a region, as we all know, has much art and culture that deserves spotlight.

Overall, I would say that I expect to see many good things in there future from this company!

good to hear. i flopped and left home late. call the cafe and they said the launch was finishing at 10. so i did not even bother. were they selling any merchandise there? how was the quality? was it just t-shirts?

For the record we left there well after 10 PM...

The merchandise (tanks, tees & a small selection of canvas bags) was on sale. My friend bought one of the rapso inspired Poetic Religion shirts.

i figured i should of still pass thru, but coming from jersey , then my friend told me i had to pick him up, i didnt want to drive across there and get dissapointed. do u know which stores have their merchandise

Oh I see...he said something about the tees being in a store on 8th ave somewhere wthin the single digit range in Manhattan (yes I know that was awfully unhelpful ) You could always just get it online
