Can I loc my hair after a texturizer?

Hey voguers,
I am obviously not ready to committ to locs yet since i keep changing my mind so I want to get a mild texturizer to make my hair a bit looser and easier to manage so that I can rock my fro stress free. Will I still be able to loc down the line or will I have to cut it all off again if I decide? I'm thinking that it my still be coarse enough to loc if I get the right person to apply the texturizer.

I did...I had a Pam Grier fro with virgin hair and had it "texturized" in March '05. Regretted my decision and did gel twists in May '05. That caused my hair to grow quicker, so I had some new growth to play with. At some point, I cut off some loose ends of the texturizer, but not as much as I could have. I decided to let my stylist start the locking process in July '05. My hair was soft, but kinky enough. My hair locked after four months. You don't look like you'll need to texturize your hair. Your hair looks soft enough as is. If you still want to texurize it, just make sure it's not on too long. When you think you're ready for the transition or just want to experiment, start wearing double strand twists or comb twists (which ever works better for your hair). This will ease you into locking (plus, you'll need to start here anyway). You know your hair's texture best. If it's too soft or texturized over and over, you might as well braid it up, let it grow out, cut off most or all of the texturizer and start from scratch. Otherwise, your hair will take over 6 to 12 months to lock. You'll get discouraged and give up.

If you do it, make sure you don't keep that stuff on your hair for long...

For more info, p.m. me....
