I might be late for the party, but I saw this black bridal magazine at a bookstore. Here's the link for the online magazine. www.bridesnoir.com.

this is what i don't get... you have an online magazine named brides NOIR but on de cover you have a half white chick with green eyes. steeeeups.

I don't know DT... she's still a sista! lol... And I usually check the site and they have all shades of women on there.

maybe i'm thinking too much of it but ... the reason why we have a black issue of everything is because generally, we've always been shown by the media that natural black features aren't beautiful enough to "make the cover". so to see a black woman with white features on the cover of a new black brides magazine to me is still sending the wrong message. then i click on the magazine link and there is Eva Pigford. i have nothing against her and think that she is a beautiful model but still again... black woman with white features.

Sis trust me... I know what you mean... it's not so much of thinking too much into it, but for some reason we've been conditioned to see it in print and television... but after awhile I was like I want to see more sistas of a darker hue making the cover... but you know what I can't forget we're many shades and hope that media can appreciate all!

I'm glad you were able to click on the link to find Eva's picture. I was hoping someone would see the magazine itself. If it's any consolation, I've seen darker sistahs on the cover of the mag. and there are some inside in the photo spreads. The online mag is a little limited, but we've all been represented. However, I understand where you're coming from.
