who does this "la la soca"

i have a mix cd called jmc presents 80s and 90s soca party hits. its a nice mix, i thik its all cover songs. maybe by jmc triveni, i have no idea, lots of classic 80s and early 90s tunes.

but one of them is called la la soca, its a famous melody

the same one square one used in their song la la,

what are the roots of this melody?

That's Lord Nelson....(if it's the song I'm thinking of). Square One did a collabo with him back in 99-2000 I believe, remaking the song.
