Yes and but they making music. I have in the last few years began to see Dancehall/Soca like Hip Hop/R&B. Related styles where the lines or often blurred and crossovers are common.

So if Ram, Lil Rick, Edwin, etc sing new music year round and producers produce year round. The result will be a true music industry, quality will improve, people will be more consistent.

Plus, as I said. Dancehall and Soca are like brothers musically. So, cool.

Plus most artist don't stick to one style. Rock singers usually have, soft and hard songs. It happens with Rapper, R&B singers all the time. Same with Pop singers, look at Rihanna.

So, if our artist are truly to develop, this is natural and should be encouraged.

Funny thing is I heard the Trippple 8 Riddim playing on Hott a morning at 6:30(Jon Doe plays dancehall at that time) and was like "Bubbles playing soca straight through while Jon Doe taking the day off" then I realise that it is a "Dancehall Riddim".

But as I said, these means that Bajan artist and producers looking at making music year round. Making music a Business!!!

Outside of Jamaican dancehall artists, which other artists from the other islands are making money from dancehall? It is great to see music being produced from the islands throughout the year, but why not produce soca to get the genre moving.

You would be surprised at the growing non Caribbean market for soca, I am not talking about some of the horrible songs that are being promoted as the best there is that the genre has to offer.

We need to come to a realization that there are two markets for our music, and produce for both. Not do a swap and say we can't do anything with the music outside of carnival. Unfortunately it is what we have today.
