    Nope!!
All it needs to do is to emulate what its mother calypso did in the 30's, 40's & 50's; more songs that make sense and that folks from any part of the world can understand and identify with coupled with great beautiful catchy melodies.
It’s not just about how the soca singer looks or even how great their voice might be.
    She looks great though!

Groovy is the only way that soca is gonna take over the world. It's just that simple.
"Giving up is hard to do
    When you really love someone
Giving up .... so hard to do
    When you still depend upon
    Her warm and tender touch
Her kiss and her hug..........her caress
Oooooh that used to mean so much
    And bring you happiness"

What you are saying sounds nice but looks are far more important as sad as it may be.

Talent and good songs are required but you will get a lot further if you have an A+ look and B- music than if you have B- look and A+ music. Think Britney vs Christina.

Songs of love and the human experience normally does well across the genre..

example, Radio Ga ga by Queen. It appealed to the 10-20 year old of that period in which radio was there release from their reality.

that sort of general human experience normally does well on an international market

True indeed. If Machel wanted to go global then he gonna need more than Pitbull to take him there honestly. Heck, he even tried it with Wyclef and nuttin popped off. As of now, I can see myself hearing "Mr. Fete" on top 40 radio. As for Destra, Call me name and hell even "I Dare You" could've been top 40 or top 10 hits on Billboard. Patrice's "A Little Wine" could be a Billboard smash if market right. "Jumpy" music is for Zumba to us Americans. lol Gonna need some slow winin music to capture the masses.

All that colabo stuff has been a hot caribbean sun of a mess. I've always said he should have pushed One More Time.

And 100% agree about Destra's "Call My Name", loves it.

RAGGA SOCA has MADE it to the BIG DANCE.

In other words, songs along the line of TURN ME ON n TEMPTED TO TOUCH are what will PROPEL SOCA MUSIC in the MAINSTREAM MARKET.I do not know how MANY TIMES U have to be TOLD this.

That said; a song like DIFFERENTOLOGY can make to the BIG DANCE.

In other words, RAGS and FLAGS is a NON-STARTER if SOCA wants to make it to the INTERNATIONAL MARKET.

When you come to TERMS with that SOUND STATEMENT, the LIGHT BULB will GO off in your HEAD.

    YUHHHHHHHH SEEEEEEEEEEE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe

to make it international... soca artists need to stop being seasonal and come out with music all year around... not just your own carnival. when ur chune makes it big dont get cocky and switch up ex. kes went cocky for a year after woitless and kerwin last year.. also too much bad mind and fight down in soca... djs cant play a certian artists because they on a certian station etc. caribbean people spend too much time showing one another whos island is better then trying to work as one and push things together
