What island you feel is most underated in music?
I feel Dominica is the most underated. WCK, Seranade, and some guys name clan to mentione a few- I think have some real high quality tunes.

 I had heard good things about them from other people too. Maybe they had an off night when I saw them but they did not sing 1 original song  they were doing covers of alot of other band's music & NOBODY in the crowd was moving everyone was just watching them in disbelief like what the hell is this I seeing here? people were calling them WACK I felt so bad for them |

St.Kitts is most underated
St.Kitts has NuVybes !!!. Enough said!!!!. This band has been running the eastern caribbean for a few years now and they are still considered by the so called trini/bajan music pundits as secodn raters. There music is phenomenal and they have had regional hits every year for the past 5 years. The band is DAM good and i think they should be considered as highly as any of the so called top bands in the caribbean. Also we King Pungwa has been crowned the OECS soca monarch. Pungwah is the twice crowned St.Kitts national calypso monarch. Other bands from St.Kitts that are good but are generally underated are Small Axe,Grand Masters as well as local reggae stars such as Crucial Bankie and Masud Sadiki.

WOW I MUSIC FROM THE VI. YOU GOT JAMBAND, PYOUR PASSION, IMAGI, STARLITES, AWSOMEONES, XPRESS BAND AND MANY MORE. ALL THEM BANDS MAKE SOME BIG TUNES.

They're many talented artist Kevin Lyttle - Need I say More!!!! Luta - with the track Busy Tone Roses Crew- Who Have that Hott Track on the Drum & Bass Riddim The you Have Hottsand I would Say is one of the top ten bands in the Carribean. |

I agree marketing and promotion is the problem for Vincy Carnival. Big up Roses Crew they need a road march no more Poorsah for 2004, I hope.

this new jam band is knda bad still...i haven't heard nu vibes yet so i can't comment on them...
but dominica is deffinitly the most underrated island!! yes WCK has lost a bit of their bite since they lost RAH.. (the first drummer) he was the man behind all their BIG hits...Conch shell, balance batty and Train!!!! the new WCK is alright..but they have lost something without RAH. the Serenaders are bad too!! like is said in another thread....watch out for a band from angullia name VITO!!!....dem a go come hard real soon fe all yu!! |

BIG UP JAM BAND AND VI MASSIVE
Whenever I go home Jam Band NEVER dissapoints! Yes, the new band is NOT as good as the original, but nick Friday can do his thing live- like no other. I love all the artists from the Caribbean, good or bad. I just now those from St THomas. By the way, I would LOVE to sample some of the artists mentioned in some of the posts................. Attach them no!

Last summer I was sing "Oooi aye Oooi aye, music from the VI..."
Of course, Jam Band always has a couple songs that I like. But I am also feelin Xpress Band...the CD I have from them has some reaaally nice tunes. The little I have heard from Pyour Passion has been good too. So I going with the USVI... |
