I do believe that it all comes to an end now that we have "Danso" music as the music coming out of St. Vincent... Ragga Soca is now a thing of the past because the music has evolved as per VP... Thank God the ole talk is over!

Thank you VP!

I am not trying to have any more arguments with that nutcase about Raggamuffin-Soca aka Ragga-Soca.

Hopefully now that he has created a completely new genre of music called "Danzo" (at least in his mind) he will stop running behind my posts for pointless illogical arguments that make no sense to me about how SVG started Ragga-Soca.

All islands have contributed significantly to the ragga-soca genre over the years since its inception in the late 80's/early 90's, some more so than others but the fact remains that the term ragga-soca was coined in T&T in early 1993 by Kenny Phillips one of the top producers in that soca sub-genre at the time and the concept for an annual Ragga Soca Monarch competition was also started in T&T in 1999.

In other words if it wasn't for T&T there would not be an annual Ragga Soca Monarch competition in SVG today with that flawed entry structure that they have been using. It is partly T&T's fault because SVG copied the flawed structure of T&T's original Ragga Soca Monarch competition which is why I feel partly responsible as a Trini to clear up the confusion and provide some guidance on the original definition of what is Raggamuffin/Ragga-Soca.

No one Caribbean island can lay 100% claim to the Raggamuffin-Soca aka Ragga-Soca sub-genre but some have contributed a bit more than others hit wise especially in the early 90's when the Ragga-Soca explosion took place.

I havent read any of the ragga soca threads, cause dem just seemed useless..

but, IMO... Socapro is way more knowledgeable about soca, where as vincy powa only cares about SVG..

if you not bigging up SVG, he on ya case..

There are artists from SVG that me rate, and have voted for to get on the company that i work for pre carnival show, but his behaviour makes me not want to look in Kevin Little's direction.

I have said it before and will say it again ... VP does more bad than good for St. Vincent artists. He could cause someone to dislike St. Vincent artistes just because of his attitude.

he is a bit annoying, but maybe he should be a Soca scholar or something if that exists lol, cuz he seem to want to rewrite the history of Soca and its sub genres, which is all good but thinking he is changing something by posting it on IMIX is a bit off.
