A Tribute To The Great Sparrow And The Old Bards Of The Music

YEAH MAN, AS I BEGIN THE COUNTDOWN TO FLEA NEW YORK AND ENTER THE GREATEST PARTY IN THE WORLD, IT SEEMS RIGHT TO REFLECT ON SOME OF THE MUSIC AND THE MEN WHO STOOD IN THERE AND CHAMPION THIS THING FROM THE BEGINNING. I'M PARTICULARLY FOND OF THE OLD OLD MUSIC AND I WELCOME POSTS FROM ALL WHO COULD CONTRIBUTE...ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO COULD PROVIDE MUSIC FROM OUTSIDE OF TNT. KEEP IT IN THE SIXTIES AND PRIOR IF YOU CAN. OF COURSE YOU CANNOT HAVE A THREAD LIKE THIS AND NOT START IT OUT WITH THE GREAT SPARROW. HERE IS SA SA YEA:

You listen to the old calypsoes and basically you're listening to a news item on what was going on in society at that particular point in time. Jean and Dinah basically talks about the americans leaving the base that they had in tnt after world war two, resulting in hard times for the local prostitutes since their source of finance had all but dried up.
