    POOR PEOPLE SONG - Maddzart

A REVIEW OF THEIR 2004 ALBUM

From the first song, Invitation, by Max, I could feel the island-inspired pulse of this album and wanted to go wherever it would take me.

The collection contains the hot and heavy. 2004 Soca Monarch and Road March King, Bomani, contributes the addictive hits I Am Soca and Bootie Call, which should please those who like their tunes so, so sexy.

Maddzart’s musical gifts are also well represented. The singer who found fame with Turn Me On gives us Road Soldier, which took third place in the Soca Monarch Competition 2004, Dance Again, an excellent piece of ragga soca, All I Need, a sexy number featuring the sensual vocals of Max, and the pulsating Hot It Up. He also contributes his two hits from 2003, the sweet and sexy mid tempo Water and the jumpy Motorcade.

The only female lead vocals on this album come courtesy of Shanelle, who lends her voice as only she can to the racy Is Only Love, the soothing Lean On Me and last year’s big hit, Carnival Action.

This set comes to an end with Savage’s rendition of Grateful, a beautiful, uplifting song, and a re-mix of the road march, I Am Soca.

If you’re looking for a fully rounded album that will keep you jumping from the first note to the last, HS Phaktor’s latest is essential listening.
