Soca music has become over saturated...

I think that with this new style of putting out x amount of songs every year, the quality of soca is suffering. Instead of just putting out 1 or 2 GREAT songs a year artists are putting out 10+ halfway decent songs with only 1 or 2 pretty good songs. they need to concentrate more on making GREAT music!

The same can be said for any genre of music. Don't worry though, the true gems will eventually shine through.

thats true but with soca it has become more extreme. For example, soca artists went from making 1 or 2 songs a year during their carnival time to jumping on every soca riddim and coming out with 10+songs anually in a span of 2 or 3 years. Other genres of music spread out the over saturation over a longer time span.

Soca music is made for the Carnival season so there isn't really a very long time to "span out" the music. That's why it seems as if it's "saturated."

It's kinda hard for the true Gems to shine when the so call media control everything. Do u guys know how much good songs die every year without being play on the radio. I am talking about good quality recordings, good melodies the complete pkg.

I have a plan but it takes time to implement. Remember that nothing lasts forever, not even the media's control over the music industry.
