Soca/Calypso Monarch Competitions In U.S.
I'm looking for some information on whether any of the U.S. Carnivals have a Soca or Calypso Monarch competition.

I know Baltimore used to have one a while back...don't know if it's still in the works.

What about the others? (NY, Miami, Boston, Philly, DC)

If anyone has any info, please post it, or link me!

there are competitions in Tampa, and Orlando...there is also one in Miami that is not directly related to MCI but has been going on on Thursday night for years. I wouldnt call it a soca monarch competition though...there more traditional social commentary "tent" like competition...I f someone is interested let me know...ive participated in all three...

Boston had a soca competition a few years back. I really don't know if they still have it though.

DC have a calypso monarch competition 2 weeks before DC Carnival.

www.panmasters.com has the info...not sure if it's updated.
