Shadow was actually born in Trinidad...

How many Imixers-including those that are trying to separate Trinidad from Tobago know that?...

That's a little known fact. He is Trinidad born but Tobago raised. But it dosen't matter what part of TnT de man born in because as a son of the soil, his music is something to be very proud of.

He is a living legend. OHHHHH YEAHHHHH!

Besides the Grenadians who are proud that Sparrow
sang his first notes in Grenada, is there ever much
mention that he wasn't born in Trinidad?

Most trinis and sparrow himself regard sparrow as a trini. He may have been born in grenada but he was brought up and cultured in tnt...which is what really counts.

Sparrow was 4 when he moved to Trinidad with his family...dunno how many "first notes" he coulda been singing before that to really count...but it's quite common knowledge that Sparrow was born in Grenada. It's also no secret which culture he more closely identifies with...not that most Trinis (from what I can tell) care...the man's Trini at heart.

Some sources say de man was actually only 1 year old when he was brought to TnT. And yuh dyamn right he's Trini at heart. And Trinis take him to heart too, else he would not have all dem national awards and a statue in Port Of Spain.

Many TOBAGONIANS will DISAGREE.

The FACT of the MATTER is, SHADOW was RAISED in TOBAGO.

And you can tell from his STYLE and LYRICAL CONTENT that his MUSIC is of a UNIQUE VARIETY.....DIFFERENT from the ARTISTS based in TRINIDAD.

Just like the TRINIS love to say SPARROW is a TRINI instead of a GRENADIAN....SHADOW is a TOBAGONIAN....he says it all the time in his MUSIC.

As the saying GOES, you cannot have it BOTH ways.

SHADOW is a TOBAGONIAN.

THE END.
