Reggae Artist labels Soca: "The Devils music".

I hear on the radio (flow 935) here a reggae artist by the name of "I WAYNE" (I think maybe incorrect spelling, and I`ve never heard of him before to be honest) in Jamaica, has labelled Soca the devils music, questioning why during Carnival in TT many people paint or dress themselves as devils. I heard it`s a excerpt from a upcoming Vibe magazine article that is reportedly supposed to compare the 2 musical genres, Reggae and Soca.

I`d like to hear more info about this, and why a American magazine would compare the 2 genres in the first place. My ex-girlfriends` parents were fuming. I don`t think the W.Indies needs this kind of tension. First off I'd like to say i like both music equally. In the words of a soca tune: "all ah we is one".
