King of "MainStream Soca"? Wrong again!

The term "Mainstream" means "currently popular with most people". Having said that, Mainstream Soca means "Soca Music that is currently popular with most people". This song does not fit that billing.

Further, Kevin Lyttle does not put out enough Soca Music to be currently popular in that music category... here is your opportunity to re-title your post...

Go ahead, don't feel bad... just try again son!

Who anointed Kevin Lyttle the King of Mainstream Soca?

What is the body of work that makes him deserving of that 'Title'?

Question is does Kevin Lyttle still do soca? When last has he released a decently good soca tune?
"Home for Carnival" is the last decent soca tune I can recall from him but maybe I missed a few good soca tunes from him since that one.

"Home for Carnival is definitely his last soca hit that made any impact in the soca mainstream.
Now how many years ago was that, 10 years ago?

Which other SOCA ARTIST made to the BILLBOARD CHARTS more so than Kevin Lyttle??

No need to RESPOND, because we already know the ANSWER to that question.

Yes, Kevin Lyttle is the KING of MAINSTREAM SOCA.

Can someone, anyone post the last soca song from Kevin Lyttle that was a hit in the mainstream soca market and to pass the test was on regular high rotation by soca DJ's everywhere?

The last soca song from KL to fit the bill as a hit was "Home For Carnival" in 2007 as far as I am aware.

In fact can someone post ALL of the mainstream soca hits from Kevin Lyttle that folks from the soca mainstream will instantly recognise as a massive hit that would bring back great party memories for everyone who hears them?

As far as I am aware there are only two soca songs from Kevin Lyttle that fit that bill, TMO from 2001/2002 and "Home For Carnival" from 2007.

Can we honestly add any more KL soca songs to the list of mainstream soca hits that most soca ravers everywhere will view as massive soca hits that they are familiar with?

The question also begs how could someone with just two soca hits in the soca mainstream since 2001/2002 be logically regarded as the "King of Mainstream Soca" unless you are living a life of insane self-delusional?

In contrast we can easily list mainstream soca hits from an artist like Machel Montano for almost every year from 1995 straight up to 2016 that folks in the mainstream soca market are quite familiar with and view as one of the biggest soca hits for that year.

When we can list mainstream soca hits from KL for almost every year from 2001 to the present in a similar manner then we can start thinking about crowning him as the "King of Mainstream Soca" but until such time that title is based on total self-delusion that is approaching serious insanity. However it does make for good comedy material if one is out for a laugh.

One or two hits in the mainstream soca market since 2001 does not make you the "King of Mainstream Soca" but it could easily qualify you as a "One Hit Soca Wonder" but I don't want to be too harsh on KL as he has been trying since TMO. I think KL's problem is that he is now more of an alternative/pop music artist than a soca artist.
