Many times on here we make being insular seem like its a bad thing, it's NOT. Outside of the level to which VP and Socapro takes it, i encourage everyone to be insular with regards to your island music. With out you being at the forefront pushing the music of your native land who will? you will go to your native lands and be amazed by the volume of enjoyable music you hear for carnival but upon return to your north american or European diaspora that music goes mute because the powers that be force their music on you.
I guess you missed my main point, yes, we all want to promote our own....but i have no interest in beating down yours to make me feel better that mine his better, or dont even acknowledge it, which a lot of us do here....look how many good tracks are posted, etc.

Then call themselves lover of Soca or the culture.....no you are bias and only interesting in pushing and Biggin up yours....not you, but perfect example is VP and the constant.....what you pointed out!

Then you have the haters....who have no interest in the art form, just in here to talk shit, they have never spent $ on mp3 downloads or support any of these artists in anyway shape of form......at best all most they can say is that they when home, slept on some family member floor, lime, stayed in the parking lot drinking, fete prices too much, they saving up their funds for the extortion mas prices.... yet, the artists them need to figure out a way to get out quality materials, which lead by to my other thought.....stop giving away your craft.. ..for free, let them pay !

As I said please stop projecting your insularity onto me, I am not even quarter as insular as yourself and appreciate and have promoted soca music on Imix from the other islands.

There was a time I used to annually create threads on here dedicated to St Lucia, Dominica, Grenada and other islands soca music and the main reason why I stopped is because my efforts were not being appreciated by insular folks like yourself (who were not even making a decent effort to post music from your own islands) but was falsely accusing me of being insular and biased against their island music.

I think most folks here confuse me correcting misinformation about T&T soca artists and music in general with me being against soca from other islands when in fact I have a wider appreciate for good soca music from other islands than most posters here.
    Never was calling you out.

RE your Trini boost theory, as we have pointed out to you many times before, songs get into Trini Carnival when they are on their last legs after they have dominated around the world - they are not boosted by Trini Carnival, the artist is, but usually once Trini Carnival done, the next set of island tunes to dominate start releasing a few months later.

The current example of that is 'Split in di middle' has just Dominated all the carnivals around the world, all the summer caribbean carnivals, just a few days ago Notting hill and I can comfortably assume it will Dominate the upcoming US carnivals.

Trini Carnival is not until next year February. Split in di middle did not dominate Trini this year. So as you can see by the time it dominates Trini (and it more than likely will) it will already have dominated everywhere else and be on its way out.

So we have proven once again that your Trini boost formula, exists only in your head not in reality. The artist will become more of a household name once he enters Trini, but his song - unless it turns into the next 'turn me on' will die in the months following Trini carnival ushering in the 2018 summer carnival hits.

Now you can put your Trini boost theory to bed and let it go.
Firstly none of your posts piss me off so you are only fooling yourself as usual if that is your main intention of posting here. I view you as a circus clown much as I view VP.

I actually enjoy correcting any misinformation being posted about soca music on here by you or anyone else because that is what I specialise in doing and why I call myself Socapro.

Regards your "Split In Di Middle" argument it does not disprove my consistent observation over the years (which is not a theory) that soca tunes from the other islands that were hits in T&T get an extra boost or extension of life into Notting Hill Carinval.

For your information "Split In Di Middle" came out since 2015 and has not yet been a hit for T&T Carnival. If however it becomes a big hit for T&T Carnival 2018 it will be given a definite boost and extension of life which will mean that it will be again popularly played at Notting Carnival 2018.

Here is Freezy in T&T recently in an interview admitting that he is hoping for the same proven T&T soca boost for his latest hit "Split In Di Middle" by promoting his track in T&T for the upcoming 2018 Carnival season. Take a listen...

Freezy Visits T&T For The First Time, "Split In Di Middle" Paves Way For 'Dennery Segment'

A similar thing happened to "Rock & Come In" by Linky First this year which was clearly given an extra boost and extension of life due to being a big hit at T&T Carnival 2017 earlier this year despite being officially out since early 2016.

In fact the artist Linky First admitted to the boost his song was getting from being a hit in T&T during Carnival 2017 in an interview he did earlier this year. Take a listen...

I came here and INTERRUPTED the EVERYTHING TRINI DOMINANCE in this FORUM in 2003.

So much so that the TRINIS, BAJANS, EXCEPT for one FELLA, he was a PILOT, and even members from my own COUNTRY were HAPPY that I was banned.

But that did not STOP me, I still came BACK to EDUCATE and SCHOOLED the TRINIS and OTHERS on SOCA MUSIC.

I BROKE DOWN all the MYTHS and MISCONCEPTIONS and they LOATHE me for it.

The TRINIS and their FOLLOWERS were all UNEASY that I was EXPOSING all the CLAIMS that they were INDOCTRINATED to BELIEVE.

As a MATTER of FACT, there was ONE MODERATOR who wanted to TURN SOCA CHAT into "WINER BOY" CHAT.

Her name was IslandFantasy or something LIKE that.

I wasn't HAVING NONE of it.

She would BANNED me every time I bought UP Kevin Lyttle.

Kevin Lyttle was taking the WORLD by STORM during that PERIOD and that TRINI MODERATOR did not want me to TALK about him.
But she could NOT STOP ME, NO MATTER how many times she BANNED ME.

All the TRINIS and even other ISLANDERS used to GANG UP on me, because VINCYPOWA was EXPOSING the MYTHS and LIES that they were TAUGHT to BELIEVE.

I said all that to say this, if I was not here to EDUCATE and INFORMED MEMBERS and OBSERVERS about VINCY MUSIC, ESPECIALLY RAGGA SOCA, we would NOT KNOW SHIT, because THE TRINIS WANTED to DICTATE what was being discussed and they wanted it MOSTLY, if not all, to be about TRINI THIS and TRINI that, with a LIKKLE BLIGH given to Barbados.

    I CHANGED all that.

I CHANGED the CULTURE of SOCA CHAT, so much so, that so-called SMALL ISLANDERS became BRAVE ENOUGH to SPEAK about their MUSIC without FEAR.

I BUILT and ENHANCED this FORUM, because it was DURING MY PRESENCE it was BRIMMING with ACTIVITY and OBSERVERS.

I SINGLEHANDEDLY BROUGHT that to SOCA CHAT.

In other words, at the HEIGHT of this FORUM, VINCYPOWA was LEFT, RIGHT and CENTER in the HEART of it all.

    I was SOCA CHAT.

Members and OBSERVERS came to SEE me in ACTION and NO ONE CAN CHANGE that FACT.

It's kind of unfair to blame two people for the thing dying. It isn't just SocaChat. The rest of the forum is pretty dead too. These things survive off participation. Participate people! And not just in Soca Chat, participate in the Reggae and Zouk/Konpa forums too.

Anyone who wants to blame VP or myself for Soca Chat dying or being dead is a fool who needs to look in the mirror especially if they rarely contribute anything of substance to the forum.

These are the three main reasons that I've already pointed out why Soca Chat and the rest of Islandmix is slow these days.

    1. The impact of social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.

    2. Imix management going AOL and not keeping things in order when certain posters have overstepped the lines of respect and decency towards their fellow posters.

    3. Too much insularity from too many posters does not help but is not as big a factor as the previous two points just above.

I reckon Soca Chat will get a bit busier as it usually does as T&T Carnival approaches.

More or less, everything you stated is correct , well I can't comment on :

"CLAIMS that they were INDOCTRINATED to BELIEVE."

Because, it was always all over the place on both sides......but in the pinnacle of it, you did take the fight to them single handily.........

And it was impressive to see you come up with more facts or BS.......

But, you like MJ....selfish, meaning you never make anyone around you better......the constant....oh, it have to be about me.....

Outside of the fact that you repped Vinncy to the fullest, that you accomplished.

You did nothing to bring in others into the mix !

Then.... We were waiting on Vinncy to take over....it never panned out, you couldn't galvanized the base to challenge the Trinis on their stronghold of Soca or Carnival...

    But, your effort is noted......

Then Socapro came back into the fold and between him and Dede....two of them....they broke you down from a Grade 1 Race horse from a Gallop to trot !

Outside of the claim he had you on ignore, lol......

But for what it's worth....you held it down.....lol, because few of your countrymen came and back you up.....hence my point......you made no one around you better...just selfishness you promoted!

For what its worth it was not all that difficult to do as all we had to do was post the facts about the music to dismiss VP's BS arguments especially in regards to his fanciful claims about the Vincies starting raggasoca.

Yes the Vincies may have developed their own distinctive style of raggasoca over the years but they sure as hell did not do it first or create it.

In fact Jamaica and Byron Lee can take much more credit for starting ragga soca than the Vincies ever could when we look at the history and the timeline music recordings.

I did have VP on ignore for a long period of time up until around Christmas of last year when I decided to remove him from ignore due to VP going missing in action and I getting worried that he had turned into a humble Christian who was no longer willing to fight for what he believes in.

I have explained that I was still able to read VP's posts while I had him on ignore once they were quoted by other posters who I did not have on ignore which allowed me to still have conversations with those other posters and point out most of the BS that VP was still consistently posting.

Regards to VP's countrymen not backing him up, most of the intelligent ones were quite aware that VP was promoting BS and decided to save themselves from the embarrassment of backing him and then myself, Dede and others quickly pointing out the clear BS that they were gullible enough to try to support.
