Who would you...?

When our style of soca becomes obsolete, and it becomes "old time music" by the new generation, who would you tell them were the greats of this era?

You know how our parents were into, Kitch, Sparrow, Rose and dem?
Who would you tell the new generation about?

VP, i know your answer. LOL

I would tell the NEW GENERATION about.....

1. The band Touch (GREAT MUSICIANS...no band has a COMBINATION of good singers on par with this band....this band was innovative and made excellent music)

2. Alston "BECKET" Cyrus - the man has the BIGGEST RECORDED song, TEASER, by a solo artist, in the 90's.

He also had many BIG HITS.

But what made him STANDOUT is the MANY CLASSICS he has that pertains to his BELOVED St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

3. Kevin Lyttle - we're already half way through this DECADE, and it is SAFE to say that his MONSTER, PHENOMENAL, and GROUNDBREAKING hit "Turn Me On" will be the BIGGEST hit of its time.

Moreover, the man and his song, TMO, have REVOLUTIONALIZED the soca industry, like no other song or artist has done, thus his ascendance to GLOBAL acclaim.

The only EXCEPTION being SuperBlue and his "GET SOMETHING AND WAVE" song, and that was only accomplished on the REGIONAL level.

4. Frankie "the Maestro" McIntosh - When you hear the name, whether it is the 70's, 80's, 90's, or the new millennium, this LEGEND has done more for calypso/SOCA music, Caribbean wide, than any arranger/producer in the business.

5. Adrian Bailey n Mark Cyrus - these two PRODUCERS are the reasons why SOCA music has been GRADUALLY putting its STAMP on the INTERNATIONAL market, thanks to the success of TMO and Nookie.

So whenever you see those SEVEN names, RESPECT due my YUTE.

One doesn't have to ATTAIN GREATNESS, through X-AMOUNT of SONGS, to have a REVOLUTIONARY impact in this or any industry.

One only has to have one song or for example, one IDEA, to change an ENTIRE industry or nation.

For EXAMPLE, let us say SuperBlue never had a hit prior to or after "GET SOMETHING AND WAVE."

It still doesn't TAKE AWAY from the REVOLUTIONARY IMPACT he has had on the region or the INDUSTRY, because that song changed the CULTURE of SOCA music, even up to this day.

And I feel TMO/KL has this in SPADES.

And even if he is REFERING to "WE SOCA COMMUNITY", one cannot DISPELLED the IMPACT his song has had on we soca community, especially the industry.

And I can CLEARLY and SWEEPINGLY give a methodical ACCOUNT of how and why this is so.

He/the song has had more of an IMPACT on the INDUSTRY than the next person who, let's say, has a LIFETIME of hit songs.

Like I have PREVIOUSLY stated, you cannot WRITE the HISTORY of SOCA music, regionally or internationally, as it evolves from decade to decade, without that song or his name being MENTIONED.

It is SIMPLY would not be ACCURATE history, if this was not ARTICULATED.
