Freddie’s ‘First-Where Reggae Meets Soca’

"Freddie’s ‘First-Where Reggae Meets Soca’ Debuts In T&T. A docu-trip titled ‘Freddie’s First-Where Reggae Meets Soca,’ is making its debut in Trinidad and Tobago today. The much anticipated film is reality-based, piece narrated by the 40-year reggae music veteran, Freddie Mc Gregor. It highlights the differences and similarities in culture, history, music styles and carnival traditions between Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago in an effort to educate the viewer and unify the two islands. An exclusive Hollywood style reception has been planned for film screening at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel later today. It includes a special performances by Mc Gregor and local single pan band, Sipabatt as well as the launch of a community related Caribbean HIV youth initiative titled ‘Bridging The Gap in Trinidad and Jamaica."
