Fay Ann Lyons had the crowd eating out of her hand!
“Wait, Wait, Hol’ up,” Faye-Ann Lyons spoke authoritatively into the mic to the security guards who surrounded her, all itching to save her from a perceived danger of being dragged over the railings and mauled by eager fans at Sunday’s Carnival launch.

You heard right! Faye Ann had kicked off her back-breaking crystal-heeled black and gold stillettos in pursuit of comfort—barefoot. She jumped offstage and climbed onto the peeling red railing that separated the crowd from the stage. “Behave yuhself” she said to an eager young fan who could not resist a quick grope.

Low-cut capris pushed lower showed off her belly tattoo and one on her lower back. A cut-off sleeveless black tee displayed another. Faye Ann Lyons spelt one word—hot! After several soca hits with the crowd in a frenzy over her snake dance moves, she found herself barefoot and perched high, straddling the rails at the Mindoo Phillip Park.

But not to shortchange our local performers! Mantius and Alpha, crowd favorites, were well received. Nicole David needed no introduction. She sauntered onstage in a skimpy black number. A corset styled blouse and a black flared miniskirt coupled with fishnet stockings completed her ensemble!

“Bounce, bounce, bounce, start tuh bounce!” she sang, demonstrating exactly what she meant. Her miniskirt flipped with her bouncing, revealing black underwear sandwiched between fishnet clad buttocks. Whoever said soca was demure. Modesty be damned! Nicole milked it for all it was worth while eyes focused on her “bouncing” parts all in the name of showbiz!

Carnival bands showcased their designs for Carnival 2005. XS Energy depicted the colorful and creative Cuba. Mas Action’s theme is Journey Through the Sahara and Rituals depicted Apollo. However, the most popular band seemed to be the newcomer Red International. A carnival band from Trinidad, Red is making waves with their scanty costumes—thongs and beads—depicting Hidden Treasures.

The Carnival Queen contestants were also introduced to the crowd. Aneshar Antoine, Krisha Dolcy, Joy Ann Biscette, Le Anne Clyne, Nikita Clarke, Nicole Casimir and Ms SLHTA Keisha St Helene.

i never seen Mantius perform b4. i like his tunes 'Fere Yah' and 'Make A Round'. his other song 'Mashee' reminds me of some old Godzilla movie....not sure y....

Fayann is just like a reacher's daughter. When she was with Invasion, she would always be covered, now that she's with Bunji band she "breakaway". But! the changes she made look dham good.

I was standing right next to the journalist that wrote this story, funny how she only started at the part when Fay Ann came off the stage!!! She failed to highlight a lot of things and while I like Fay Ann, she did not move the crowd like the report makes it seem. We sat at a meeting after discussing this article in disbelief. From this report, it seems Nicole David just appeared on stage...if a solo artiste mashed up the crowd it was Nicole. Not to mention Wezon did a set before that had the solo artistes worried about their ability to top that!!!
