De Band Coming And Celebrate
THIS IS MY GRIPE WITH THESE TUNES
I WILL STILL GIVE HIGH MARKS THESE TUNES FOR BEING CREATIVE INNOVATIVE AT THE BEGINNING ( THE HOOK OF THE TUNE) AND I CAUGHT ME ATTENTION AT THE BEGINNING. BUT WHY DIDN'T THEY KEEP THOSE RYTHYMS OF EVEN A LESS PRONOUNCE SPIN OFF OF THOSE RYRTHYM THROUGHTOUT THE TUNES INSTEAD OF REVERTING BACK RYTHYMS WE ARE TOO ACCUSTOM TO HEARING. ITS LIKE WHEN YOU LISTEN TO THE FIRST PART IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING FRESH FROM THESE ARTIST AND A CATCHY HOOK BUT WHEN THEY GO INTO THE FIRST VERSE AND CHORUS ITS LIKE THE SAME OLD THING AGAIN...WHY NOT USE IT THROUGHOUT THE TUNE. ITS LIKE IT A COMBINATION OF SOUND FRESH TO A POINT THEN SOUNDING LIKE THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER. DESPITE THIS I STILL LIKE BOTH THESE TUNES...THEY ARE AMONG MY FAVORITES SO FAR. |

OH OH
OKAY, IN A NUTSHELL I REALLY LIKE BOTH OF THESE TUNES BUT I THOUGHT THEY COULD BE HAVE BEEN BETTER. WHAT I LIKE WAS THE EXCITEMENT IN BEGINNING IN BOTH TUNES BUT AS YOU GO INTO TO THEM THEY WAS A DROP FROM THAT INITIAL EXCITEMENT.
BUT I STILL HOPING BOTH TUNES CAN DO WELL. I HOPE THIS SOME SENSE. ![]() |

Ok i get ya now!!
to be honest with you a lot of the material coming out these day are monotanous...particularly the faster jump up tunes.....they all have the same beat...the same snare drum and bass drum patterns...the same riddim...these producers nowadays are not innovative with their riddims..thats why i like burning flames, WCK and dem virgin island bands...they really put a lot of effort and emphasis on thier riddim...but but other than them...the others producers riddims tends to all sound the same.....and what makes it worse is that eveybody is singing about the same rasshole topics!!! ps..i don't want to say trini producers becuase i know i'm gonna get a backlash!! !!! |

). It's like a competition on who knows more. So no disrespect to VI music, or Antiguan, or any other island. I can say I like music from most islands...I prefer the parties where all islands represent. So while I may not be the biggest fan of Flames or Jam Band...I'll still dance to it. I own a few of their cd's where I like the tunes. Same goes for music from St.maarten, Dominica, Martinique, St.Kitts, etc...I do go out of my way to buy the cd's when available. I am constantly askin dj's who sing this and that. |

@rummy...everybody have dem preference...nobody can force another person to like what they are not feelin..but the problem i have is with people who deliberately ignore, disrespect and don't support other islands music simply becuase its not thiers.
i am bajan born and antiguan raised...i grew up listening to numerous islands music not just antiguan music or bajan music....from dominica to anguilla to st.kitts to VI ...i supported all of them and still do to this day...i'm don't let my "patriotism" get in the way of my love for soca music!!! i don't base my dislike for a particular band or artists soley on the fact he/she or they are not from my island...i just find that trini's and bajans (not all but the majority) deliberalty ignore the smaller islands music especially the northern caribbean islands music!!! they ignore the WCK's, the small axe's and the jam bands of the world simply because dem not from tinidad or babados as the case maybe....this attitude is very pervelent and needs to stop!!! these people don't even try and open their minds to the music from the north..they don't even want to hear it!!! they let thier over-patriotism get in the way of expanding thier soca minds!!! thats what i have a problem with!!! me ago call it like i see it...if the trini's on here are offended...well tough...because it's the truth..and me no fraid fe talk the truth!!! come on..it is so prevelent even on this board...how many trini's you see replying to a nu vybes thread or a jam band thread or a wck thread??? if you see 1 or 2 you lucky!!! they just for some reason don't want to recognize or be interested in these islands music and these bands material!!! like i said me no care who vex cause its reality and truth me a talk!!! if you listen to it and don't like it thats fine..but dem don't even want to listen to it!!! |
