what they need to do it let all enter and then pick from there..the only automatic entry should be the person who win, because if Tallpree, Skinny fab, lavaman etc was there it would have been better.

....and I for one agree. If anything they can get a bye into the semis.

I THINK it is TIME for the OTHER ISLANDS to BOYCOTT this WASTE of TIME COMPETITION, because U will NEVER EVER WIN, especially if your music is HARDLY KNOWN.

VP the whole set up is wrong. Trinidadians should have the opportunity to compete in their own show and then the winner compete with the other islands. Other than that I have no qualms if the promoter of the show thinks that a song from outside is popular enough to make it then they should be included in the semis not the finals. That way the artiste will have more time to build on their popularity and do the hard work but just to walk into a show and the audience not studying you just does not make any sense. The artiste needs to take time and build a relationship with the audience to make a good impression on the night of the show.

Again, IT is BASICALLY an IMPOSSIBILITY for an OUTSIDER to WIN.

TRINIDAD is BENEFITING on the BACKS of these "OUTSIDERS" who COMPETE in that COMPETITION on so MANY LEVELS.

The ONLY WINNER here is TRINIDAD and its ECONOMY.

Actually no. From what I understand the appearance fee is pretty good so the artist getting something.


But I am not for competition, at least not a judged one so...

I'm saying if you give me $1,000US a free plane ticket and hotel to Trinidad during Carnival I going say no because I can't win???


Just go, make sure your performance cost less than your apparence fee and enjoy the free show. Or better yet go with the idea of exposure and not winning.

Maybe Tallpree & Lavaman understand that they are only invited guest at Trinidad's soca monarch competition and no matter how good they are they are not going to win.

You think about Antigua?, that is when you have someone win a competition that should never have won in the first place. You get nonsense!!

I believe Tallpree and Problem Child both performed together and also Tallpree (who took Kerwin’s power spot) performed by himself in the SM Semis but neither made it into the final.

If they had won their respective SM competitions back home then they would have both had automatic spots into the final and we would have seen them last night but they didn't.
