    Archie Break Them Up

does anyone know the name of this song and the artist?

    Also

"I want a divorce, rather than get married to a horse.... is horse"

"I want it, I want it back, I want it, my #################### cat"

Does anyone know who sang those?

Sorry, I have no other lyrics. But those of you who grew up on soca will know it.

These songs been in my head all week, so I just had to come and ask the knowledgeable ones.

    Many thanks!

the "horse" tune was by Explainer - Horse.

"Archie" or "Archie Bruck Them Up" - is a very old but popular tune which has been covered numerous times over. 2 my knowledge the original was sung by either Lord Creator or Lord Cristo, but i've read the song actually originated in Antigua. who knows?

seems even more ppl covered this song. it was covered in TNT as well. guess this song got around. *thought spawns idea for new thread*

from the stories i heard about this song like dev said, it caused madness when it was hot. from the covers i heard, Archie was a sick musician with a sick band backing him up that works the crowd to wanting more.

Okay, there was a tune name "Archie Buck Dem Up" by a guy from st.croix name Archie Thomas, it was a contender for roadmarch in St. Thomas' first carnival in 1952 but did not win.

NB: sorry for posting the rude part of the lyrics, it didn't dawn on me to disguse them
