i dont like how this site was made but you can browse for paid and free apps here. also by category. once you get the phone, you access the market from the phone itself and get to read reviews and screenshots and all that jazz.

i got the htc hero.. and yup its cool.. the flash is a bit shoody.. but everything else its cool.. i havent tried many apps as yet. And was a bit disappointed by the lack of a full Skype VOIP app..

PJK i used a basic phone for my primary, had the iphone for a while also..
The move to the HTC was solely because I wanted a good "Smart Phone" which was not the iPhone, and I wasnt going to wait for Windows Mobile 7 to be released. |

So far I have installed a few apps for htc, one i love - sipdroid. Which is an alternative to Skype, even better as if you have your network you can make calls for practically free. The catch is that it only works on WLAN, however word on the street is because it is only the version from the market is locked, the original open source version (google code) can work on 3G/EDGE networks also. Hmmm havent made up my mind if I will be that game on doing so..
