I never faced this problem before, but I will be facing it this year. I always get a natural color and on Friday I will be taking my own color to get a fill-in. Then I will just take the color to Trinidad and repaint my nails if necessary

I just get a mani/pedi in NY right before I go (a pale, neutral color on the fingers, so chips don't show), and I then I change the color myself on Carnival Saturday or Sunday to something brighter. My pedicure usually lasts for 3 weeks, so I don't have to worry about my toes.
One year I had a manicure and pedicure done at Institut de Beaute in Long Circular Mall, and it started chipping and peeling the next day. Waste of time and money! |

Revlon "Extra Life"
Once you get your nails done, coat them well (on top of each nail, over the edge, and under it) to make sure you seal in the color. Refresh it every 5 days or so. The color should easily last a couple of weeks without chipping. You can probably get it at any drug store. I usually purchase it from CVS. |
